Press Releases - XJet Ramps Up for Commercialization With Introduction of Carmel AM System, First Customer Sites and Overall Business Growth Multiple announcements at formnext 2017 demonstrate a shift from R&D to business activity

Frankfurt, Germany (formnext 2017) – November 14, 2017XJet Ltd., the additive manufacturing company, is ramping up for commercialization of the company’s Carmel AM product line in 2018 with a series of announcements at formnext, Frankfurt. The company has announced the release of the Carmel series of AM systems, demonstrating the company’s shift from developing technology to preparing for the commercialization of its product. Following XJet’s announcement of its customer site at Oerlikon citim, based in Barleben, Germany, the company added the Youngstown Business Incubator (YBI), a leading university-associated business incubator in Youngstown, Ohio, USA, to its list of customers.

The first Carmel AM system has been installed at Oerlikon citim in Germany and is already running. During December, a second system will ship to YBI in the USA for installation in January 2018. Both sites will perform field tests on the XJet systems with a focus on using ceramic materials to produce parts for a variety of industries.

“This is a very exciting period at XJet,” said Hanan Gothait, CEO and Founder of XJet. “Our hard work in developing a transformational AM solution is paying off and we have shipped our first two systems to Oerlikon Citim in Europe and YBI in North America. We are truly at a turning point in the company’s history. Until now, our many successes have been in the laboratory; now we’re going out into the real world.”

Poised to transform the ceramic and metal additive manufacturing industries, the XJet Carmel AM systems (Carmel 1400 and Carmel 700) features the company’s patented NanoParticle Jetting™ (NPJ) technology. Unlike most of other additive manufacturing solutions for metal & ceramic that use powders, the Carmel AM system prints very fine layers of nanoparticle “inks” or fluids for the build and support materials, enabling the safe and simple creation of complex geometries.

As XJet shifts from an R&D startup to a commercial company, it has increased its head count by nearly 50% – appointing senior industry veterans across the business.

To manage the company’s increased business activity and market interaction, the company has appointed Industry expert Haim Levi as VP Manufacturing & Defense and 3D printing pioneer, Avi Cohen, as VP Healthcare & Education. To further drive XJet R&D, the company has recently appointed a new CTO – Igal Zeitun – whose significant experience and success in AM will enable him to meet the company’s aggressive growth strategy.

To ensure that the business continues to expand with best-in-class operational executives, field service engineers and all other positions required, the company has also appointed a dedicated VP of Human Resources, Ili Ramon.

XJet is participating at formnext 2017, a leading trade fair for additive manufacturing, that takes place in Frankfurt, Germany on November 14-17, 2017.

XJet will demonstrate its Carmel 1400 AM system and will host formnext visitors in Hall 3.1 at booth E20.
